Mankato -
A Mankato man is facing criminal charges - accused of using a cell phone to secretly videotape a woman while she tanned in the nude.
Gerhardt Zerwas, 28, is facing one count of Interfere with Privacy - which is a Gross Misdemeanor.
Investigators believe back on May 21, Zerwas held a cell phone over the wall of an adjoining tanning booth to record a woman.
Authorities say the alleged victim saw a hand and cell phone being held over the wall as she was getting out of the tanning bed. She quickly got back in to the tanning bed and stated that she saw the hand over the partition wall. After that, the criminal complaint says the alleged victim heard stumbling like someone was quickly getting off of a chair coming from the next room.
According to the criminal complaint, managers at the business used surveillance footage to identify Zerwas, who later deleted the images from his phone.
The complaint says a specially-trained investigator found evidence of the deleted pictures.
The criminal complaint states that Zerwas denied taking any pictures.
Zerwas is scheduled to appear in Blue Earth County Court December 20th.
The Gross Misdemeanor charge carries with it a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $3,000 fine.
