Heavy rain pounded parts of Northern California causing flooding and travel delays on Sunday.

It was the third wave of bad weather to hit the area since Wednesday. High winds uprooted trees in Citrus Heights, California.

Wind and rain pounded the northern part of the state for the third time in less than a week.
Across the region some streets looked more like rivers, and thousands woke up without electricity after powerlines snapped.

Near Lake Tahoe the rain turned to snow Sunday morning. The National Weather Service says that kept the Truckee River from flooding into homes.

Heavy rain fell at the Oakland Coliseum, forcing crews to sweep water off the field before the Raider's football game against Cleveland.

Officials say damage from today's storm was less than expected because the system moved through quickly.
