NORTH MANKATO, Minn. -

For the first time, this upcoming legislative session, Greater Mankato Growth will have someone working in the state capitol to bring awareness to law makers concerning the needs of the greater Mankato area.

It's part of a plan by GMG to bring more attention to the needs of our growing community.

So Friday morning, a wide range of community stakeholders came together to discuss local, state, and federal policies that may be of great consequence for opportunity for the area.

Director of Government and Institutional Affairs at Greater Mankato Growth says, "That allows us to get input from community leaders, from business leader and translate that into advocacy position on behalf of the community."

Issues discussed included Highway infrastructure, health care and education.
