MANKATO , MINN. -
Marly Miller's Granddaughter lives in New York. Miller says, "Families are far away."
Staying in Minnesota this year for the holidays Miller is mailing her gift. Miller says, "There's a little angel that's in there that lights up, and she's only nine months old so its two little outfits for her."
But she's not the only one, FedEx predicts tomorrow's shipments will set a new record, shipping 19 million packages in one day. FedEx Center Manager Jason Techout says from now until Christmas it's only going to get busier. Techout says, "Between thanksgiving and Christmas they're expecting 280 million packages."
Shipping more than 20 packages per second tomorrow, Techout says the increase in shipping means big business for those moving mail. Techout says, "People are realizing that Christmas is soon."
Techout says customers still have time to ship presents and know that they'll make it in time for Christmas. Miller says, "Well probably if it's going a long distance, going across the country they want to get them in the mail so they'll be sure and get there."
But Miller says she's not taking any chances with her granddaughter's first Christmas.
