MANKATO, MN -

All that wintry weather caused at least 13 accidents on Mankato roads Sunday night.  Especially Between the hours of 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., police were busy responding to minor motor vehicle accidents; primarily vehicles sliding through intersections. Mankato Department of Public Safety Commander Jeremy Clifton, said, "It's that 'perfect storm' when it goes from that thirty degree temperature, where it can stay slushy and stay wet and get pushed down and get pushed out to the curb...and then drops in temperature down to the single–digits and we get all that frozen hard–pack." No serious injuries were reported. Officials remind motorists to slow down for the conditions and allow extra time to reach your destination safely.
