Authorities have identified the name of a motorist who died Monday in a two–vehicle crash on Highway 169 just north of Mankato. The Minnesota State Patrol identified that person as James E. Hughes, 63, of North Mankato.
According to the State Patrol report, Hughes was driving a 2003 Jeep Wagon southbound on 169 around 4:00 when his vehicle lost control, crossed the median and collided with a 2006 Peterbilt Semi truck heading north.
The driver of the semi was taken to MCHS Mankato with what are described as minor injuries.
Traffic was down to one lane in both directions at the accident scene.
