The lights were out along Madison Avenue for a while this afternoon. Quite a few businesses lost power this afternoon by the intersection of Bassett and high ways 22 this afternoon. WalMart Customers tell News 12 the buildings went dark, and they were asked to leave. A spokesperson with Xcel Energy says a total of 23 customers were impacted. About half of those customers were without power from about 1:45 until 3:00. The remaining customers had power restored by 4:00. The spokesperson tells News 12 that the outage is related to utility workers moving overhead power lines underground.
