Mankato Department of Public Safety asks that you clearly display address numbers on your home. Doing so helps emergency responders quickly find locations during an emergency. State fire code requires address numbers to be visible from the street, It's recommended numbers be at least four inches high and contrast with their background. In addition, homes with mailboxes near the street should display address numbers on both sides of mailboxes as another way to alert responders they are where they need to be if an incident occurs.
