A mall near Portland, Oregon remains closed for investigation a day after a masked gunman opened fire during the height of the holiday shopping season, killing two people and wounding a third before taking his own life. Authorities say it appears to have been a random attack.
investigators aren't releasing details about the masked gunman who witnesses say calmly announced "I am the shooter" before opening fire. Frightened holiday shoppers quickly started heading for the exits.
Authorities say the shooter was firing in the food court until his rifle jammed. That's when he ran into this Macy's. The mall will remain closed while investigators continue to gather evidence. A hospital spokesperson says the injured woman is in serious condition but her injuries are not life threatening.
