Former congressional candidate Allen Quist is considering a run for the State Legislature.

Earlier this week, current State Representative Terry Morrow (DFL-St. Peter) announced he's leaving the State House of Representatives when his current term expires on January 7th - despite getting re-elected last month.

Quist told News 12 that he's considering a run for Morrow's House 19A seat, but that no decision has been made.

He says he's considering the run because, " There's a lot of major changes that need to be made in our government's working.  I want to do my part."

Quist added that he's willing to step back and let other people run if a viable candidate comes forth.  Quist is a former State Representative.

The Republican has also run for governor and Congress - most recently challenging DFLer Tim Walz
