#5 Marshall Girls Fall To Mankato East, Boys Beat Mankato West

It wasn't a tournament at Mankato East, but it was two of the best teams in the Class-3A poll with 7th ranked Marshall visiting.
The Cougars took an early lead when Claire Ziegler hits the baseline jumper.
Marshall would tie it with free throws, but East goes right back in front when Taylor Karge spins, is fouled, and gets it to go for a three point play.
Tigers would answer again with a three pointer from Morgan Saugstad to tie it at 11.
Later Karge misses, but Allison Taylor is there for the rebound and putback to go back in front.
Then Minnie Childress Frederick drives and somehow gets the shot to drop.
The Cougars would pull away and upset the Tigers 69-61 in the end.
The Marshall boys were hosting 10th ranked Mankato West and the Tigers upset the Scarlets winning 70-50.
