FAIRMONT, Minn. -

As moviegoers enjoy their popcorn, Eagle Scout Isaac Landsteiner collects food for the less fortunate. Isaac Landsteiner says, "Wanted to do something a little bit different over the holidays."

Instead of charging money for admission at Fairmont's opera house Landsteiner collects donations. Cousin Joseph Reth says, "Really proud of how far things have gotten. It seems like a really good turnout."

Landsteiner says he couldn't have done it without the help and encouragement he got from his fellow scouts. Under the Boy Scout Law a scout must strive to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, and friendly. Scoutmaster Michael Madsen says, "I think Isaac lives by those values as well and it shows. "

Landsteiner chose to screen the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" because his family watches it every Christmas together. Mother Marie Landsteiner says, "This movie was just the epitome of what we wanted Christmas to be. You know looking out for the needs of other people and how we want to live our life."

Isaac Landsteiner says, "I hope people just realize that poverty and hunger is a problem even in a small town like Fairmont."

He also hopes the audience can walk away inspired by a classic Christmas film. Isaac Landsteiner says, "I hope people also realize that we're a community that we can work together those who are in need."
