It was a must win for the Vikings today if they wanted to control their destiny to make it into the playoffs.
With such an important game, fans came from all over and packed into bars and restaurants to watch their Vikes play in Houston. Besides being good for local businesses, it is all about the atmosphere. Brad Embacher, General Manager of the Hilltop Buffalo Wild Wings says, "It's great seeing everyone get into the game."
And they were. Whenever Adrian Peterson got the ball, applause would soon follow. And of course, whenever there was a touchdown, the place would erupt in cheers. With the season they had last year, no one really expected them to be playoff worthy.
But there was someone who we could count on, number 28. When asked what was more important, Adrian Peterson breaking the single year rushing yard record, or making the playoffs, Lonny Hewitt, a patron today enjoying the game, said, "Adrian Peterson to break the record because Erick Dickerson does not want anybody to break his record and I think it would be awesome!"
Next week looks to be the game to watch, as they go into another border war with the Packers in an attempt to solidify their spot in the playoffs.
