MANKATO, Minn. -
The Kiwanis lights display that helped brighten the holidays in Sibley Park in Mankato is coming down.
Volunteers have gone to work taking down the one million lights and multiple displays that brought in tens of thousands of visitors to park. Groundwork will wrap up today...then work will continue on getting all of the lights out of the trees with the help of boom trucks.
Kiwanis Holiday Lights president Scott Wojcik says,"Once we have everything torn down here we have it all back in or warehouse, so we are always going to need volunteers spooling electrical cords, spooling lights up and still doing that."
They will start work in the warehouse Sunday afternoon, if you would like to help, call (507)385-9129 or emailvolunteer@kiwanisholidaylights.com.
