A 19 year–old Mankato man is arrested after allegedly attempting to rob a cab driver. Police say it started around 3 a.m. Sunday, when Cody Stanton–Bridges and another man boarded a taxi near Main Street and Riverfront Drive. The driver told officers he became suspicious when the men asked to go to a business that had already closed for the day, so he stopped and asked the men to leave the taxi. Officials say one man complied; Stanton–Bridges did not, but tried to grab the driver's money bag before getting out. After a brief struggle, authorities say Stanton–Bridges left the cab without the driver's money. Police caught him a short time later. Jeremy Clifton, said, "Upon his arrest, we found a small amount of marijuana and he was also under the influence of alcohol." According to the cab driver, Stanton–Bridges kicked the cab several times before leaving the scene on foot. In addition to the attempted robbery charge, Stanton–Bridges may face other charges including: possession of marijuana and underage consumption of alcohol. The cab driver was not injured in the incident.
