The Mankato East girls basketball team is having another strong start to the season, finding the Cougars ranked 7th in class 3-A with an 8-2 record.
The Cougars are 2-0 in the New Year, beating Albert Lea on Friday, and posting a win over Hutchinson on Saturday.
Next up for East is the 2nd ranked team in 2-A from New Richland Hartland Ellendale Geneva.
The Cougars will play at the Panthers on Tuesday night, and East head coach Mike Barger says he wanted this game on the schedule to better prepare his team for the playoffs.
