Ranked MSU Men And Women Basketball Both Beat Northern State

The 21st ranked MSU men's basketball team had a big game on Friday night against Northern State.  Both teams entered with 6-1 records in the conference.  After playing close most of the first half, the Mavericks opened up a 12 point lead by the break.  The Wolves would outplay the Mavs in the 2nd half, but MSU hangs on to win 83-76 behind 29 points from Zach Monaghan.

The MSU women's basketball team climbed into the national rankings this week, sitting at #24 when they hosted Northern State on Friday.  The Mavericks held a 16 point lead at halftime and unlike the men, the Mavs women extend their lead in the 2nd half to win 71-47 led by Ali Wilkinson's 12 points, and Jamie Bresnahan's 10.
