Artists from across Southcentral Minnesota descended on Saint Peter today to showcase their work. Hosted by the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, the third–annual artist–grantee exhibition features 17 artists that were awarded grants ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. The council serves the nine–county area in south central Minnesota providing programs for developing the local arts. Prairie Lakes Executive Director Brenda Byron says, "Artists need to keep developing their careers through a variety of workshops and activities and then having their work displayed in the public."
The program started with artists discussing their work, and was followed by music and literary readings. You can check out the work the Art Center of Saint Peter now until February 17th.
