MANKATO, MN -

A light dusting causing some slippery spots and accidents around our region Wednesday morning.  Two vehicles lost control in Mankato and ended up in the same ditch. It happened just before nine this morning on Blue Earth County Road 16 near Mapleridge Dr. A sedan slid off the road and rolled into the ditch and minutes later a white Chevy pickup went off the road, prompting authorities to remind drivers to slow down.  Blue Earth County Sheriff's Deputy, Tom Cusey, said,"You can look at the road and it doesn't look like it's slippery. But, with the black ice, you know, that has a tendency to fool people. And you know it's the typical information you give to drivers: During the winter seasons, you slow down."

According to officials, the driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries, but refused transport to the hospital. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
