The cycling community in Mankato is responding to the news that Armstrong is being stripped of his only Olympic Medal.
Sales Manager James Bernau with Nicollet Bike Shop in Mankato says he thinks many cyclists have mixed feelings about Armstrong.
Bernau says Armstrong encouraged many people to take up cycling while racking up wins during his battle with cancer, but that the doping allegations have put a damper on how people view him.
Bernau says he hopes at some point another cyclist can emerge as a solid role model for the sport to keep people excited about cycling.
