Mankato East and Mankato West wrestling both held their parents night on Thursday. The Cougars hosted 7th ranked Owatonna, and the Huskies proved why they are ranked that high in 3-A as they win in a rout 72-4. The story was a little better at West where the Scarlets hosted Rochester Mayo. Mankato West won the first two matches to take a 9-0 lead. The rest was all Mayo except for a milestone win for Tyler Jakes at 195 pounds, as the senior logged his 150th career victory with a pin in 25 seconds, but the Scarlets would lose 56-15.
