Mankato Eagles club is taking a bite out of cancer with its "Bite–A–Burger" fundraiser.

The event raises money for palliative care at Mayo Clinic Health System's Andreas Cancer Center.

Volunteer Gloria Zachow says this is the Eagles Club's most successful fundraiser, this year they hope to sell around 2,500 burgers.

Zachow says,  "The words gotten around people are just so generous and they want to help and they're just here for us and we have everyone that's working here today is a volunteer."

Zachow says more than 50 people volunteered today some coming in as early as 3 a.m. to help set up.

The event wrapped up with 2,301 burgers sold.
