A new charity component is being added to the Mankato Marathon. The marathon is looking support five charities by providing five guaranteed entries to each non–profit. Each charity runner is required to raise a minimum of a thousand dollars for the charity. Meaning, if all charity runners raise the minimum amount, a minimum of $ 5,000 would go directly to each charity.
Greater Mankato Visitors Bureau president Anna Thill says, "We're so excited about it because what it does is it allows us to reach even further into the community so that more and more people can receive benefit from what we're doing with the race."
Applications for the Mankato Marathon Charities Program are due on February 8th. The five charities will be selected by February 15th.
