MANKATO, Minn. -
Final numbers are in for the Kiwanis Holiday Lights, with more than one hundred thousand people stopping by to look at the massive display at Sibley Park.
Around thirty thousand cars drove along the pathway, and 13 tons of goods were donated to area food shelves. On top of that, almost twenty thousand dollars will be donated to local charities that took part in the display.
Scott Wojcik of the Kiwanis Club says, "Amazed at the turnout. I tactually doubled our expectations for our numbers, people, for the dollars that were raised. We honestly feel we created our own little monster here. And it's definitely something that's going to continue as a tradition."
Plans are already in place to expand the display for next year's holiday season.
