WASHINGTON D.C. -

Hundreds of thousands of people gathered in Washington, D.C. to watch President Barack Obama's second inauguration. The President was officially sworn-in yesterday in keeping with the constitution's mandate that presidents begin their new term on January 20th. But the public celebration is today.

President Obama took the oath of office at the west front of the Capitol.  He used two Bibles - one belonging to Abraham Lincoln - the other to Martin Luther King, Junior. In his inaugural address, the President outlined some of his goals for his second term. We must harness new ideas and technology to remake our government, revamp our tax code, reform our schools, and empower our citizens with the skills they need. Vice President Biden also took his oath. The crowd is much smaller than four years ago - but this is still expected to be the largest second-term inaugural in history. The festivities continue throughout the day with lunch in the Capitol, a parade and two inaugural balls this evening.
