MANKATO , MINN. -

You may remember a story about a 12–year–old boy facing charges for shooting an airsoft gun last September. In October the boy's father spoke to the council about the ordinance, but the council was unable to address the issue because of the confidential nature of the juvenile crime. Father Mike Johnston says now that the case is outside of court they should be able to talk about it. Johnston says, "They have every right in the world now they can comment on it and discuss it internally and discuss it with the public's help."

Johnston says the current ordinance is too vague and includes many toys children use. He will speak tonight during the council's meeting, which starts at seven.
