MANKATO, MN -
A St. Peter man is in jail after a high-speed chase in Mankato Thursday night. Around 9:30 a caller told police there was something strange going on in the parking lot of Cub Foods on South Riverfront Drive. Mankato Department of Public Safety, Commander Pam Hermanson, said, "We had a report of suspicious vehicle complaint at 1200 block of South Riverfront Drive. Upon officer's arrival, the vehicle had left the area at a high rate of speed. Officer pursued the vehicle. A short distance later the vehicle stopped." The driver, 27 year-old, Gary Michael Stillwell, was arrested and taken to Blue Earth County Jail. Police found three children under the age of six, in the vehicle. They were not injured and were released to the care of others. Police have requested charges against Stillwell, that include fleeing in a motor vehicle, driving after revocation of license and child endangerment.
