Mankato Public Safety asking for the public's help after two men report being victims of an armed robbery. Police say the men were approached by two suspects who asked to use a cell phone. It happened around 4:30 Sunday morning in the area of Birchwood Street, Dillon and Floral Avenues as the men walked home.
Reportedly one of the suspects displayed what appeared to be a short–barreled shotgun. No one was injured, but the suspects took the two victims' wallets and cell phones and drove away in what appeared to be a dark color car and possibly with four doors.
Robbery victim John Labonte says, "I never would have seen it coming. I would not have expected that to happen at all."
The suspects are described as black, younger in age, height of 5'5" to 5'11", thin builds, clean–shaven and both were wearing jeans. One was described as having dark skin, wearing a dark blue "puffy" winter style coat with a hood. The other as light skin, wearing a tan or white zippered sweatshirt with a hood.
