MANKATO , MINN. -
The Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato is hosting the Minnesota Ag Expo through Tuesday. Agriculture makes up about 20 percent of the state's economy.
Farmers from across the state gathered to see all things ag. One draw this year: a tractor simulator.
Vendors were also on hand from all different fields in the agriculture business.
John Mages, former President of the Minnesota Farm Bureau said, "This is the meeting where we basically set our policies for the upcoming year. And of course every year there are new issues that come before agriculture."
The expo is the place to showcase the newest technologies in farming, research in growing efficiency and more. There was also a banquet to award people for their influence in the ag field. Even the American Lung Association was there to pledge the benefits our corn producers have on E85.
"It's cheaper. It's better for the environment. It's made in Minnesota, that's a win, win, win for everybody," said Robert Moffitt of the American Lung Association.
Moffitt says Minnesota has more E85 stations than any state in the country.
