Kiwanis Lights Display: Final Numbers Add Up to Big Success

Posted: Updated:

The final numbers for the inaugural Kiwanis Holiday Lights Display are in.

More than 100,000 people visited the holiday lights at Sibley Park in Mankato.

Those visitors brought in 13 tons of food for area food shelves and raised $22,000 for local nonprofits.

Kiwanis Club members were impressed with the 10,000 hours volunteers spent making the display possible.

Kiwanis Holiday Lights President Scott Wojcik says, "The volunteer hours blew me away, knowing how many hours we had put into the project. And the amount of people who came through, it was such a huge success."

The group is already planning an even larger holiday lights display starting this November.
