Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Barry Anderson pays a visit to the Mankato Kiwanis today.

The Mankato native was the keynote speaker at today's meeting.

He discussed the role of the judicial branch in Minnesota, and how the court works... as well as some of the newest innovations the court has implemented... without costing the taxpayers any more money.

"'These include electronic payments of fines and fees," says Anderson. "It includes electronic filing of documents; and other innovations that will give people easier access to documents, make it easier to find out what's going on in the judicial branch and make it easier for them to handle the responsibilities that they have."

Justice Anderson is a Gustavus Adolphus graduate.

He was appointed to the Supreme Court by Governor Pawlenty in 2004 and reelected in 2006.
