Posted: Updated:

According to a criminal complaint Clayton Robert Briggs went to a Mankato Holiday Gas Station several weeks ago where he was playing lottery scratch off games. When he left the store, Briggs left behind his wallet.

Investigators say an employee found it on the floor when they picked it up a small bag with a white substance fell out. That employee called police.

Authorities say Briggs then came back looking for his wallet he became upset when the worker wouldn't give it to him that person then set off the panic alarm. Police say the white substance was methamphetamine.

County Attorney Chris Rovney was unable to comment on the open case at this time. News 12 also contacted the Holiday gas station cooperate office and they did not return our message. Briggs is now charged with 5th degree drug possession. His first appearance in court is set for February 14.
