Saturday was a big day for wrestling tournaments around the area with JWP, Martin County West, and Mankato East high schools all hosting individual tournaments.
The Cougars event saw Mankato West, Marshall, Maple River, Watertown Mayer, and Austin all taking part.
Championship round saw Maple River's Zach Kuhns pin LSH's Austin Andeny for the 113 pound title. The Giants claimed a crown at 152 when Chris Pfarr got a Tech Fall with a 19-4 win. The home team would get a title at 160 when Cody Lorentz pinned his opponent. 170 would see the Cougars come up short as Nick Makovsky was pinned by Marshall's Campbell Hoffstetter. The 195 pound title would go to Mankato West's Tyler Jakes who beat Maple River's Tyler Olsen with a 10-4 decision.
