Kaiser Permanente looked at 850,000  kids and found the number of children diagnosed with the disorder increased by 24 percent between 2001 and 2010. Mankato Clinic Child psychiatrist Dr. Sreelatha Spieker says its unlikely ADHD is on the rise, instead she says it is likely due to better education on the condition. Sreelatha says, "There is probably more awareness, and more kids may be diagnosed because more kids may be brought to their attention."

 The hallmark symptoms of ADHD are inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
