Starting today, the Blue Earth County Library will have its south entrance closed for remodeling.
Bathrooms and a more illuminated entrance will be tackled in this first phase of the nearly $170,000 project. Bathrooms will be built to the standards of the American Disabilities Act. A dividing wall near the bathroom will also be knocked down to make the area more accessible. Plus, floor tiles and the ceiling will be redone in the entrance area.
Tim Hayes, Director of Library Services says, "I think people are going to notice a major difference with that entrance and it should be much more welcoming and inviting for our patrons."
The library will try to keep sound to a minimum by isolating the area. Tim Edwards, Physical Plant Director of Blue Earth County said, "There will be some noise associated with the construction."
