1,200 people have come down with the highly infectious disease so far this year.
With the number of fatalities and crashes that have occurred on highway 14, lawmakers say it's a social economic issue that's important to both parties. For strength in numbers to work against the belief that infrastructure in the Twin Cities should get first priority.
Rep. Kathy Brynert says, "Of course we are going to work together on this highway 14 partnership coalition with local government, business and citizens who want to get it done." Another hot topic on their minds.
Enough funds in the bonding bill to support the civic center expansion.
Rep. Tony Cornish says, "I think we're going to need Gov. Dayton's help on this one and help from the DFL and the GOP to go along with a big bonding bill which might be tough because a lot of conservative that only want anything in it but infrastructure and paved roads."
A vote on the budget is expected in March. It's then we find out what state priorities make the cut.
