Pine County authorities have suspended the search for a snowmobiler they believe broke through the ice.
The incident happened Saturday at around 6:30 P.M.
Officials say the sled operator was swept down a remote part of the Saint Croix River. Two other snowmobilers told authorities they were riding on the frozen river in the dark when the victim hit a large patch of water.
He was thrown from his machine and disappeared. Officials say the snowmobiler may have been swept under the ice pack.
Sunday's search was suspended due to dangerous conditions.
