Portland, OR -

An old, gray–haired sea otter is winning hearts and scoring points as it dunks basketballs at a zoo in Portland, Oregon.

The sea otter, named Eddie, is 15 years old, according to officials at the Oregon Zoo and suffers from arthritis in his elbows.

Jenny DeGroot, the lead sea otter keeper at the Oregon Zoo, trained Eddie to shoot a small ball through a plastic basketball small hoop last year to help Eddie exercise and improve his joint function.

The exercise routine appears to be working out well and Eddie receives a treat for each basketball dunk.
