MANKATO , MINN. -
A Mankato cable and telephone provider is shelling out a large chunk of change to help organizations in Southcentral Minnesota.
Hickory Tech announced its giving $125,000 to non-profits across the company's service area.
The largest recipients, MSU and South Central College, are pegged to get grants of $10,000 apiece. Dozens of other organizations are also slated to receive cash.
"Our commitment to giving back to the communities that we serve has been a part of the company culture as long as the company has existed, which really dates back 115 years," said Jennifer Spaude of Hickory Tech.
Over the course of 50 years, the company says millions of philanthropic dollars have been doled out to organizations.
