BLUE EARTH COUNTY, MN -
As a result of that snow, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is calling driving conditions 'fair' to 'difficult' throughout our region. That has authorities calling for extra caution on the roads. We caught up with them at an accident just south of Mankato this morning. It happened on Highway 22, about 8:30. Authorities say the Chevy S-U-V was headed northbound when the driver lost control. The vehicle slid off the road and came to rest facing southbound in the ditch. Tim Mohr, said, "Fortunately nobody was hurt on this one. It's another classic example of winter weather driving. People need to take the time, you need to slow down and you need to drive accordingly. The weather conditions do dictate how we drive in Minnesota. So, we need to use common sense and allow extra time." Deputy Mohr added that motorists need to pay close attention to the road, since patches of ice can form almost anywhere if conditions are right.
