The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has released numbers related to ice accidents.
The DNR says this has been the deadliest winter on Minnesota ice in more than five years. Officials say five people have died after going through the ice in Minnesota this season. A sixth person is missing and is presumed to have drowned.
That's the highest figure since the winter of 2006-2007, when eight people died in ice-related accidents.
All fatalities this winter involved a snowmobile or vehicle falling into open water or breaking through the ice.
