Miami, FL -

We can throw snowballs here in Minnesota, but in Miami, Florida they have to improvise a little more.

After the horn sounded, people rushed to tomato piles and began hurling produce at one another.

About a 1,000 people participated in this Tomato Fight Festival.

For those less brave or unwilling to get sauced, a safety zone was set up for spectators to enjoy all the action.

Around 150,000 tomatoes, which equals out to more than 90,000 pounds are smashed.
