GIBBON, Minn. -
A Gibbon dairy farmer faces three additional criminal charges relating to the sale of unpasteurized milk. Michael Hartmann is being charged with selling raw milk, improper food labeling, and selling produce without a license. Last year Hartmann pleaded guilty to charges linking his unpasteurized milk to more than a dozen illnesses including E. coli. His plea deal led to most of the charges being dropped and was put on probation. Hartmann is also being charged with violating his probation. Sibley County assistant attorney Don Lannoyoe says, "The department of agriculture we allege sat down and met with him and he just wasn't interested in talking about what he needed to do."
Lannoyoe says this is the third time charges have been filed against Hartmann regarding his dairy farm. He's set to be back in court March 5.
