A fire that destroyed a historic home back in January has been ruled accidental. This fire happened near Kasota and the Chankaska Creek Winery on January 31st. The home belonging to Mankato businesswoman Ruth Dutler was destroyed. The LeSueur County Sheriff says a fireplace insert was to blame for the fire. Authorities say that fireplace insert was being used to heat the whole house. LeSueur County Sheriff Tom Doherty tells News 12 that the investigation is closed.
