WASECA, Minn. -

An officer with the Janesville Police Department has been charged with felony assault.

Authorities say Michael Danberry was involved in an incident last weekend in Waseca at Club 57.

Officials say at one point a verbal argument took place, which escalated into a fight. Police say Danberry is alleged to have kneed an adult male victim in the face multiple times.

That victim sustained a broken nose as a result of the incident.

Officials say Danberry is now facing at least one felony assault charge.

Janesville's police chief says the 24-year-old, part-time officer is currently suspended.
