LE SUEUR COUNTY, Minn. -

One man is in custody after a high-speed chase in Le Sueur County late Friday night.

The Sheriff's Office says the call came in at 11:42. Apparently, a deputy tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation, when suspect took off.

Officials say the motor vehicle reached high speeds in an attempt to evade authorities, as it made its way through Kasota and various rural roads. A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter also assisted with the chase.

The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle became disabled on railroad tracks-then the driver then fled. He was located a short-while later.

Authorities say 31-year-old Adam Joseph Willaert was taken into custody in connection with the incident.
