CINCINNATI, OH -

Two kids got the surprise of a lifetime after they thought they we're going to drop the puck at a hockey game in Cincinnati, Ohio over the weekend.

As they were on the ice, a team mascot bolted away and unveiled the surprise.

Army Sergeant First Class Phillip Gallardo came walking up the ice to the open arms of his two kids. Gallardo was returning from Afghanistan.

After a long embrace, Gallardo's children did eventually drop the puck to mark the start of the game.
