BLUE EARTH, Minn. -

A Ceylon man will spend the next 33 years in prison. That's the sentence handed down this morning for Brian Daniel Freeman, 30, who pleaded guilty in February to one count of 2nd Degree Intentional Murder and three counts of 1st Degree Assault.

Police say Freeman wore a mask on the night of February 20th, 2012 when he entered the home of his estranged wife in Blue Earth. He used a hammer to kill 37 year-old Christopher Fulmer. Freeman's wife, Candice Freeman, and her two teenage daughters were also seriously injured.

The Faribault County judge sentenced Freeman to a total of 49 1/2 years. 33 years will be served in prison with the remainder to be served under supervised release.  Freeman is also ordered to pay restitution of $16,866.13.
