ST. PETER, MINN. -
It's a challenge to give where you live. The Minnesota Foodshare holds its march campaign-the largest food drive in the state.
The efforts will restock almost 300 food shelves across Minnesota, including the food shelf in St. Peter.
Minnesota FoodShare will give the shelf more money based on the amount of donations the March Campaign brings in.
Coordinator at the St. Peter Food Shelf Nancy Helgeson says, "Another important think about bringing it in March is we are getting for our summer season when the demand on the food shelf is high and the donations are low, food shelves look pretty empty in the summer, so it is nice to get a lot of food in now."
The St. Peter Food Co-op is leading the campaign. They along with other businesses in town are collecting money and non-perishables to help restock the food shelf.
