
The Mankato Loyola girls basketball team couldn't wait to see what they could accomplish at this years state tournament and they got their first taste of the competition today in a 1A quarterfinal match-up against the Win-E-Mac Patriots at Williams arena in Minneapolis.
The Crusaders were on the board first, but fell behind before tying it at five. The Patriots score ten unanswered points to jump out to a 15-5 lead. Loyola would trail by eight at halftime, but battle back to get within one at 37-36 when Aunikah Bastian knocked down two of her team high 13 points. Win-E-Mac would push their lead back to ten and would end up winning by ten 59-49.
